June, 2007 - NIA Creative selected to develop BusinessOwnerSpace.com
Due to its recent success with non-profit and public sector projects for work2future, NIA Creative has been selected to develop BusinessOwnerSpace.com, an innovative site for business owners and prospective business owners in the greater San Jose metropolitan area. In addition to the website for this virtual organization, NIA will also develop a flash-animated presentation/ guided tour of the site as well as branding and collateral materials to promote the site.
The BusinessOwnerSpace (BOS) website will be designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate whatever your computer and Internet experience. Visitors to the site will be able to:
Assess whether they are ready to start a businessFind out how to launch and grow their ventureObtain the financial and legal information they need to operate their businessConnect with local business support services to guide them through this process
From a development perspective, the site will be database-driven, and set up in a way that will enable work2future staff to update and maintain the content with ease via a password-protected admin area. The site will feature a short self-assessment / decision tree process that gets site visitors to where they need to go. Partners will be able to login and input their own content into a profile page, and they will also be able to upload images and documents, input links to specific pages on their website, etc. Partners will also be able to input events into the BOS event calendar. Site visitors will be able to opt-in to receive news and updates from BOS and its partners.
The new site will launch on October 15, 2007, serving as a springboard for a week-long series of activities and programs targeting business owners and prospective business owners. Events include an evening mixer and a breakfast reception that will be attended by BOS Partners, local elected officials, BOS sponsors and business owners; tours of the San Jose City Hall; workshops and seminars; a small business job fair, procurement fair and entrepreneur exhibition; opportunities to meet VC/angel investors and more.
NIA Sr. Project Manager Jennifer Finetti notes, “BusinessOwnerSpace.com is an exciting and innovative website that will attract businesses to the San Jose area, and help to make those businesses successful. We are so glad to be part of it.”
